Encinas R a valley surrounded by beautiful olive groves. The locals, around 2500 inhabitants are extremely friendly and love it if you try and speak a little Spanish. The village is situated in the centre of Andalusia and less than one hours drive from Malaga airport. It is very peaceful and relaxing but not too far from major cities such as Jaen, Cordoba, Seville, Marbella and Granada. You could be sunbathing on the beach in Torremolinos just 50 minutes drive away or skiing in the Sierra Navada mountains in less than 2 hours. There are other local towns nearby such as Antiquera, Lucena and Rute which offer sightseeing opportunities, shopping, bars, restaurants and night life. However, there is no need to travel anywhere because the village has everything you need. There are a couple of banks, supermarket, gift shops, a florist, bakers, fishmongers, fruitshop, barbers, hairdressers, beauticians and you can even get a take away pizza or kebab. The village offers a communal swimming pool, basketball, tennis courts as well as football fields and outdoor market. There are even hiking trails and it has a good terraine for cyclists.
